Up for your consideration is a 1864 $10 State of Missouri note issued right during the Civil War. Dated January 1st 1864.
Conservatively graded and encapsulated by PMG to be in "ABOUT UNCIRCULATED 55" condition, with comments on the backside reading "Previously Mounted."
This note reads:
"Three Years to Date, the State of Missouri Will Pay TEN DOLLARS to Bearer with Ten per Cent interest."
Originally dated earlier on in 1862, but the 1862 date was crossed out and 1864 was over written.
Dark printing with very clear details. Crisp paper. Just a couple light handling creases are noted. Small margin tear at the top left side area. Also, as noted by PMG, this note was previously mounted, and there is a thin spot where it was remvoved from whatever it was attached to.
Southern states notes that were issued during the Civil War era, are getting more desirable by the day. This one should meet your expectations. Price: $195.00 |
