A $1 remainder note from the Bank of Jacksonville, Florida. This bank opened in 1837 and issued notes during that year. It subsequently failed in 1838. According to online research, some of those notes that were remaining, were illegally put into circulation in 1841 with fraudulent signatures, and never assigned a date. This $1 note is one of those issues that was part of that 1841 illegal activity.

Conservatively graded and encapsulated by PMG "ABOUT UNCIRCULATED 55 EPQ" with comments on the backside reading "EXCEPTIONAL PAPER QUALITY.
This scarcer issue features scenes from the 19th century on the front. The backside is blank with no printing.
Dark printing and strong details. Thin paper that is crisp and clean. FULLY framed, with ample margins. NO folds, tears, stains, repairs, ink erosion or pinholes. Just a couple light handling creases are visible on the backside. No evidence of hard circulation.
