Engraved by Keatinge & Ball (in Columbia, SC). Conservatively graded to be in CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE+ condition. Dated February 17th 1864. (H) plate letter, with a period before each letter. Serial # 11167 hand written at the top right side.

Very crisp paper. Light orange color on the front side, giving this note a sharp look. The details are clear, exactly what collectors avidly search for in Confederate notes.

Fully framed with extra margin at the left side, showing a portion of another note that was to the left of this one on the sheet. Hand written signatures.

NO tears, stains, ink erosion, or hard evidence of circulation. No pinholes. Two light vertical creases at the left side, and a couple some small handling creases, are the only evidence this note has been handled.

If you like to buy notes based on eye appeal, then this one may be for you. Clement C. Clay looks sharp on this eye popping note.
