Engraved and Printed by Keatinge & Ball. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter B with no periods before or after either letter. Hand written serial number at top right, 28227. Conservatively graded to be in ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition.

Crisp paper. Vivid details giving way to exceptional eye appeal. Essentially Uncirculated, as there are no folds, hard creases, bent corners, tears, stains, or major condition issues to mention. Just a bit of light "bank teller" handling seen with scrutiny on the backside.

Nice color on the front. Clean reverse, with just two ink spots at the right edge. Vivid details. Nicely cut, with nearly a full borderline visible; trimmed a bit tight at the left side.

Judah P. Benjamin, featured at the right side, broke down many barriers of prejudice and achieved great political power in the South. His achievements opened the door for many Jews to aspire to run for public office.

A high grade note that presents very well in hand. GUARANTEED to be an AUTHENTIC note from the Civil War era.
