Up for your consideration is a genuine $2 note dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter C. Hand written serial number at top right, 108724.

Nice color with an orange/red overprint. Dark printing with clear details. Very crisp paper with ample margins on three sides. Fancy signatures.

About a dozen vertical folds, along with some light handling creases spread evenly across the paper. One pinhole. A couple small edge nicks at the lower right margin, outside of the frame line. Another small edge nick at the lower left side margin, that barely crosses the frame line.

Judah P. Benjamin, featured at the right side, broke down many barriers of prejudice and achieved great political power in the South. His achievements opened the door for many Jews to aspire to run for public office.

A circulated note that has nice color and appeal. GUARANTEED for life to be a genuine issue from the Civil War era.
