Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter F, series 2. Serial # 71399 hand written at the top right. CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE+ condition.

Crisp paper. Dark details. Nice signatures and numbering. Good color on both sides. NO tears, major stains, ink erosion or hard evidence of circulation. A few small pinholes. Minor ink stain on the backside. Two light folds at the left side, and a couple light handling creases, show this note was handled.

Fully framed, with a full borderline visible. Extra margin at the left side, even showing a portion of another note that was to the left of this one on the sheet. These notes were hand cut apart from large sheets, and not machine cut as done today. That is one reason you find irregular cuts, and even a portion of another note visible, like this example shows.

A high grade note that features very nice eye appeal. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
