Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864. This was the Confederate issue that President Lincoln had in his pocket when we was shot on April 14th 1865, at Ford's Theatre.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter F, series 2. Serial # 71360 hand written at the top right. CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE+ condition.

Crisp paper. Dark details. Fully framed. NO folds, just a few light handling creases. Nice signatures and numbering. Good color on both sides. A couple small pinholes. Minor ink showing through the paper on the backside.
