Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864. This was the Confederate issue that President Lincoln had in his pocket when we was shot on April 14th 1865, at Ford's Theatre.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter F, series 2. Serial # 71353 hand written at the top right. ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition.

Crisp paper. Dark details. Fully framed on three sides, while hand trimmed just a bit tight at the right side margin. Nice signatures and numbering. Good color on both sides.

NO folds, tears, stains, ink erosion or hard evidence of circulation. Just a slight bit of handling is noted. No pinholes.

This example presents very well in hand, and would be classified as "CHOICE" by most market grading standards.
