Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864. This was the Confederate issue that President Lincoln had in his pocket when we was shot on April 14th 1865, at Ford's Theatre.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter F, series 2. Serial # 71350 hand written at the top right. ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition.

Crisp paper. Good color on both sides. Nice signatures and numbering. Fully framed. NO folds, just a couple light handling creases are noted. A blue ink stain is visible on the backside, as well as some minor toning at the top edge.
