Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter F, series 2. Serial # 71349 hand written at the top right. CHOICE ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition.

Crisp paper. Dark details. Fully framed. Nice signatures and numbering. Good color on both sides.

NO folds, tears, major stains, ink erosion or hard evidence of circulation. A few small pinholes are noted. Minor ink stains on the backside, along with some toning on the edge. Just a couple light handling creases show this note was handled.

Ample margin at the left side. Extra margin at the bottom, showing a portion of another note that was below this one on the sheet. These notes were printed on large sheets, consisting of (8) notes. They were hand cut apart, not machine cut as done today. That is one reason you find irregular cuts, and even a portion of another note visible, like this example shows.

A high grade note that features very nice eye appeal. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
