Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864. This was the Confederate issue that President Lincoln had in his pocket when we was shot on April 14th 1865, at Ford's Theatre.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter F, series 2. Serial # 71322 hand written at the top right. ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition.

Crisp paper. Good color on both sides. Nice signatures and numbering. NO folds, just a couple light handling creases are noted. Some minor toning is seen on the backside edges.

Ample margin at the left side, while roughly cut tight at the top. A couple small edge nicks at the lower right corner. These notes were hand cut apart from large sheets, and not machine cut as done today. That is one reason you find irregular cuts with Confederate currency.

A genuine Confederate note that features a nice look. You never have to worry about authenticity when you make a purchase through us.
