Up for your consideration is a nice $5 note dated February 17th 1864. Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Plate letter A; Series 4. Serial # 29175 hand written at the top right. ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition.
Dark pink color on the front, with a dark blue reverse. Dark details. Elaborate signatures and numbering. Very crisp paper. NO folds, stains, or tears. Essentially Uncirculated with just a few light handling creases. No pinholes. A decent cut on three sides while trimmed tight at the bottom margin. Small portion of the red CSA Treasury stamp is visible on the backside top corner. A sharp looking note that has plenty of eye appeal, despite the rough cut.
