Up for your consideration is a very nice $5 CSA note, that features C. G. Memminger, The Secretary of the Treasury for the Confederacy from 1861 to 1864. This was the Confederate issue that President Lincoln had in his pocket when we was shot on April 14th 1865, at Ford's Theatre.

Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Series 2. Plate letter H. Serial # 2163 hand written at the top.

Conservatively graded and encapsulated by PMG - "CHOICE UNCIRCULATED 63" with comments on the backside reading "EXCEPTIONAL PAPER QUALITY".

Very nice eye appeal. NO folds, creases, bent corners, tears, stains, ink erosion or major condition issues. A full borderline is visible with a nice cut. Strong signatures and numbering.

This issue is common, but getting harder to find in mint condition with nice eye appeal. This one is a very respectable example that will fit into a high grade collection.
