Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter C, with a line after the first C. Series 8. Hand written serial number 91958 on each side in brown ink. EXTREMELY FINE++ condition.
Crisp paper. Nice red color on the front. Dark details that stand out. One single vertical crease at the left side, along with some very light handling. No tears. No pinholes. Fully framed on three sides, while trimmed a bit tight at the right side. Nice signatures. Signed by Sarah Pelot at the bottom left. Her relative Michael McNeil wrote the 2004 book "The Signers of Confederate Treasury Notes 1861-'65", where he also catalogs all the notes signed by Sarah Pelot. A note that has a nice eye appeal, and presents very well in hand. Plus, it features a plate letter mistake, and carries a popular signature to collect. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
