A genuine $10 CSA NOTE, dated February 17th 1864. Engraved by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. Dated February 17th 1864. Plate letter C, series 9. NET VERY FINE+ condition. Hand written serial number which reads 90600.

Crisp paper with three folds and a few creases. Dark printing with details that really stand out. One pinhole. Some staining at the top right corner. A 1/4" tear extends down just to the right of the left medallion; no paper loss.

Extra margin at the top left corner, and bottom margin, while trimmed tight the rest of the way around with a rough cut. This gives a reminder that these notes were hand cut apart from large sheets, and not machine cut as done today. That is one aspect that makes Confederate currency unique to collect.

A note that still retains a nice look, even with some condition issues. Guaranteed for life to be an authentic issue from the Civil War.
