Printed by Keatinge & Ball in Columbia, SC. A genuine CSA $500 Note, dated February 17th 1864. Serial number 19434 stamped twice in black. Plate letter C. VERY FINE+ condition.

One of the most popular notes with collectors as it is the only one to feature the great General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, who was the most highly regarded Confederate Commander under General Robert E. Lee during the Civil War.

Great details. Crisp paper. Stonewall Jackson's picture is sharp. The front has a nice shade of light pink, while the backside is blank, aside from a hand written signature by a G. N. Taylor, which if it is found to be Military, would increase the value. At the right of that manuscript is pencil writing from a past collector, noting the catalog number...489..

Four vertical folds, and a few light handling creases. No stains, tears, ink erosion or major condition issues to mention. A few small pinholes. Nice signatures and numbering. Nearly fully framed.

If you have been looking for a nice Stonewall Jackson note, this example should meet or exceed your expectations. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
