A very nice example of this famous 1864 “Havana Counterfeit”. Printed during the Civil War, and not to be confused with all the copies and reproductions on the market that have no value.

You can tell this is a counterfeit by the fact that it is smaller in comparison to genuine notes, it has a lighter shade of color on the backside, and the fact that there is no space between the standing soldiers elbow and body. Also, this one features a six figure printed serial number which no genuine 1864 $100 note has. Criswell has reported that these were printed in Havana, and then smuggled into Mobile.

Conservatively graded to be in CHOICE ABOUT UNCIRCULATED+ condition. Written signatures and machine printed serial number of 537278. Plate letter D.

Dark details. Nice color. Fully framed. Crisp paper with only light vertical crease in the center. Other then that, there is some light handling noted. NO tears, stains, ink erosion or other major condition factors. Two pinholes.

A very nice example of a very popular counterfeit from the Civil War era, that is very deceptive. Guaranteed for life to be a genuine Counterfeit. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
