Up for your consideration is another interesting 1862 $100 CSA Note. Printed by J. T. Paterson in Columbia, S.C.

Dated October 22nd 1862 in fancy writing. Plate letters Ac. Serial #64939 is handwritten in red ink. Conservatively graded to be in VERY GOOD+ condition.

Dark printing. Clear details, especially with the train image on the front. The paper has numerous folds but still holds up well. Small margin tears scattered on all sides, but no major tears. Staining at the lower left corner.

On the backside, is a scarce hand issue endorsement from Captain William E. Duncan, who was a Confederate Captain and Assistant Quarter Master in the 11th Artillery Battalion, Georgia.

This issue endorsement reads:

Issued November 1st 1862
Capt. Wm. E Duncan
Capt. & AQM

The 11th Artillery Battalion fought with the Army of Northern Virginia from the Maryland Campaign to Cold Harbor. This unit also fought in the Siege of Petersburg Battle.

Information on this endorsement is confirmed in Mike McNeil's 2016 book "Confederate Quartermasters, Commissaries, and Agents" on pages 235-236.

If you like to collect scarcer endorsements, this one carries alot of history with it. On consignment from a very astute collector.
