A high grade 1862 $100 Confederate note that is dated July 24th 1862. Plate letters Ah. Serial # 25523 hand written in red ink. EXTREMELY FINE+ condition.

Dark printing. Vivid details of the train scene in the center. Nearly fully framed all around; trimmed a bit tight at the right bottom corner area. No pinholes. NO folds, just a few light handling creases.

Two stamps on the backside showing interest was paid at two locations and this note travelled between States. The first interest paid stamp was done at Savannah in 1863. The second is a nice Wilmington, North Carolina, Henry Savage 1864 interest paid stamp.

Also on the backside, is a scarce hand issue endorsement from Thomas A. Burke, who was a Georgia Captain, and Assistant Quartermaster in the 54th Georgia Regiment. The endorsement on the backside comes in scarce blue ink, which is hardly ever found on a Confederate note.

This issue endorsement reads:

Issued Aug 12 1862
T. A. Burke
Capt & AQM

Information on this endorsement is found in Mike McNeil's 2016 book "Confederate Quartermasters, Commissaries, and Agents" on pages 147-149.

A high quality note that comes with a very desirable hand endorsement on the backside in scarce blue ink. When you are holding notes that have been endorsed by Confederate Military personnel, you are holding extra history in your hands. Your satisfaction is always GUARANTEED.
