Printed by B. Duncan, Richmond, VA...FINE condition. Dated September 2nd, 1861.
This issue is most often found in worn, circulated condition, and many are tempted to inflate the grade due to the price leap for high grade examples.
While average circulated examples can be found for under $200, the price quickly leaps to over $1K for Choice XF and above.
This example was evenly circulated, and the paper is still crisp. It features a decent cut, with a portion of the next note from the sheet it was cut from, seen at the bottom right corner.
Nice signatures, with hand written serial numbers in two places...14417. A couple small edge tears at the top border. A few pinholes mentioned for accuracy. NOT cut-cancelled.
A presentable example of this desirable issue. |
