Printed by Leggett, Keatinge, & Ball in Richmond, VA. Solid FINE condition, cut-out-cancels. Dated September 2nd 1861. Serial # 17488 hand written in black ink at the top.
This issue continues to increase in popularity, and can be found with many different variations. High grade examples are tightly held by those who own them.
This particular example features the lighter shade of green and still retains all the details. Nice signatures and numbering. The paper is still fairly crisp, and holds up well.
Printed on paper watermarked with "FIVE", which is directly in the center on this note, and visible when held up to light.
No tears, major stains, pinholes, or repairs. Overall, a very presentable note with plenty of eye appeal remaining.
If you don't have this issue in your collection, this one should easily be a nice example to show off. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed. |
