Printed by Hoyer & Ludwig in Richmond, VA.
Conservatively graded by PMG - CHOICE ABOUT UNCIRCULATED 58 with Exceptional Paper Quality.
The center shows slaves loading up a wagon with cotton bales. One of only a couple Confederate notes that features slaves in the design.
This note has a LOW serial number 130, which indicates it was one of the earliest printed. Plate letters EA, with a period after E.
Dark details! Elaborately written signatures. NO folds, tears, stains, ink erosion, or other major problems.
The paper is thin and very crisp. Extra margin at the bottom, showing a portion of the next note on the sheet it was cut from. A frame line is nearly all around, but trimmed tight at the top right. The paper is
clean on both sides, with just two of the corners being slightly bent. Only a couple of light handling creases, and the two slightly bent corners, keep this note from grading UNC.
A high grade, encapsulated note, with plenty of eye appeal, and with a super low serial number. All which adds up to a superb note that should find its way into a high grade collection. |
